Case Study No.049

Responsive Branding Design

BEST FRIENDS.

Kinda Funny is making internet content for the masses, all from their studio in San Francisco. They are creating some of the world’s best video game and pop culture content for 100,000’s of subscribers daily.

Kinda Funny has always been community fuelled while remaining the holder to a handful of chart topping podcasts in North America and creating daily content on YouTube. One step at a time, they are leading the way for self-funded creatives to take over the world.

SMALL DETAILS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

When Kinda Funny came to me, they wanted brand flexibility across multiple platforms while also showcasing their unique character. Their previous branding wasn’t giving them the results they wanted, so I took on the task of re-envisioning and refocusing their look.

To the side, you can see the original logo vs my refined version.

Some of the changes we made include cleaning up the smiling face from the original brand, giving it more prominence and matching it with a custom piece of lettering in varying weight to add contrast.

EXPANDING THE BRAND

The main mark led way to the creation and development of a ton of elements, expanding the brand – Podcast artwork, weekly programming branding, illustrations. All of it works together to build a feel and identity for what Kinda Funny does. Here’s a few of my favourite projects!

“Thank You SO MUCH man! You are so talented and working with you is always a blast. I can’t wait for people to see your work!”
