CELEBRATE DIVERSITY

The Spawnies is a video games award show hosted by our friends at Spawn On Me! Awards are selected and voted on by the Spawn On Me community, striving to recognize video games, both familiar and new, the people who make them unique, and the diverse community that gathers to celebrate them. We’ve enjoyed helping Spawn On Me bring the Spawnies to life through branding, illustration and motion since its inception in 2021 – cheddar bay biscuits and all.

GET THAT BISCUIT

In the Spawn On Me community, anything great, tasty, or worthy of celebration is cheekily referred to as a “biscuit” – an homage to Spawn On Me’s founder Kahlief Adams and his love for Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits growing up. We jumped at the opportunity when Kahlief came to us with the idea of turning a Cheddar Bay biscuit into a trophy and physical award to give out to recipients.

AN ADVENTURE THROUGH BROOKAGO

Spawn On Me’s community is often lovingly referred to as Brookago – a term coined when Spawn On Me’s founders were each living in Brooklyn & Chicago, respectively. Here’s the pitch Kahlief gave us for where to start:

“Can we make our own Saturday morning cartoon!? Like an episode of Fat Albert come to life, but it’s me adventuring through Brookago and getting into crazy shenanigans!?”

Needless to say, we loved this idea, so we set to work on bringing this concept to life. Follow Kahlief across a video-game-style map of Brookago, touring through a suite of Animated Award bumpers referencing pop culture icons, the gaming industry as a whole, and having some good old-fashioned cartoon fun.
